Ridgefield Library Presents Comic Con

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Library will host Comic Con with a day of hands-on workshops and special programs themed around superheroes and villains.

Comic Con will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 25 at the Ridgefield Library, 472 Main St. Activities are available for children of all ages. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superheroes.

Pat Callanan of Cave Comics will present “The Business of Comics,” while web comic artist Bill Walko will display his latest exhibit and political cartoonists will take part in a panel discussion. The afternoon will also feature cartoon drawing classes; 3D printing of Iron Man's hand and 3D animation demonstration, as well as superhero face-painting, superhero trivia and a scavenger hunt.

Attendees can try their hand in the Drawing Duels Superhero contest, participate in the Superhero vs. Supervillain bracketology and create photos of them in their costumes using a green screen booth.

There will also be film contest screenings at the Prospector Theater, 25 Prospect St., Ridgefield. Information is available at prospectortheater.org. The Ridgefield Music and Arts Center will perform on the library’s front lawn.

This year’s summer reading program’s theme is "Every Hero Has a Story." More information on the program is available on the Ridgefield Library website.
